Všechno nejlepší, Anno
Author: Petra Jirglová
11,16 €
Anna expects her birthday to bring an engagement. Instead, she discovers that the security she imagined in her relationship was built on a lie. A fresh start takes her to rural England, where she must rely on herself. Petra Jirglová builds her humorous novel on the gap between an ideal life and everyday reality's refusal to follow a plan.
After discovering her partner's infidelity, Anna changes both her surroundings and her way of life. But working as an au pair in Britain means caring for two teenage girls, dogs and poultry. The country house is a long way from the peaceful escape she imagined.
Comedy grows from Anna's lack of preparation, unfamiliar responsibilities and cultural differences. Beneath the light tone lies a question about independence: what can someone achieve when they take responsibility for their decisions and begin living on their own terms?
Czech-language e-book. Length: 344 pages. Format: EPUB.
